Starting Again: Finding Clarity When the Path Isn’t Clear

Starting again sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Fresh opportunities, a blank page, a chance to reinvent. Except… it also comes with that little four-letter word: fear.

The truth is, starting again is hard — especially when you can’t see the whole path ahead. It’s like trying to walk across a field in thick fog: you know there’s an exit gate somewhere, but right now you can only see three feet in front of you.

So here’s the thing I’ve discovered: clarity doesn’t arrive as a lightning bolt while you’re waiting around — it comes from taking action. Small steps, repeated often, eventually show you the way forward.

What That Looks Like for Me

When I stepped away from a long corporate career to launch Aviora Coaching, I didn’t suddenly have all the answers. (Spoiler: I still don’t!) But I knew that if I wanted stability while everything else felt new, I needed to ground myself in habits.

Here are some of the actions I take every day to keep moving forward, even when the big picture feels blurry:

  • Morning ritual – I journal, practice gratitude, and take a few minutes to breathe before the day rushes in. (Coffee also makes a guest appearance.)

  • Movement – a walk, a gym session, or just stretching so I don’t spend the day fused to my chair.

  • Water & fuel – drinking more water than I thought possible and making sure protein is on the plate.

  • One next-level action – each day I pick just one thing that nudges me towards my bigger vision, whether that’s writing content, connecting with someone, or working on my coaching practice.

  • Tidying away the day – physically closing the laptop and resetting my space helps me mentally reset too.

None of these things are flashy. But they give me something to stand on while I figure out the rest.

Why It Matters

The beauty of habits is that they create little anchors. When everything feels uncertain, those daily actions whisper: “You’ve got this. Keep going.”

And slowly, almost without realising it, the fog starts to lift. The gate comes into view. And you realise that starting again doesn’t mean knowing the whole path — it just means being brave enough to take the first step, and then the next.
